Omada Property Group were appointed by the client to prepare and manage a strategy for the masterplanning and approvals of the former Mitre 10 hardware site in Canterbury. The owners were seeking to add value through gaining  Development Approval and sale of the site.
Omada appointed and managed A+ Design and the consultant team to prepare a scheme for the site which maximised its extensive river and street frontage as well as district views, as part of the urban renewal of the Canterbury Town Centre.

A development application was prepared and approved for 254 apartments over three buildings, comprised of 97 x 1 bed, 153 x 2 bed and 4 x 3 bed apartments over 9 levels, two levels of basement parking and 2,300m2 of landscaped open space. The high quality design also included 8 premium two bed, two storey terrace style homes in a separate building with frontage to the Cooks River. Omada also managed the preparation and negotiation of a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) with Canterbury Council for an adjoining parcel of land which was to be dedicated to council for the creation of a commuter carpark in exchange for a transfer of FSR to the main site at 15 Charles Street. It was significant as it represented the first VPA approved and negotiated by Canterbury Council in its history.

The Site was sold by the client with the DA Approval and significantly exceeded their price expectations. The project was recently developed and constructed by the purchaser of the site.
